Welcome to my new blog section of my website! I’m excited to share my journey with you.
Why Astro?
Astro is a new framework that I’m excited to try out and experiment with. It’s designed to be fast, flexible, and easy to use, making it a great choice for building modern websites. By using Astro, I can focus on creating engaging content while the framework takes care of the technical details. Which saves me from having to reinvent the wheel, especially handy with this blog’s content creation process and the way I want to structure it.
Another important reason for choosing Astro is it integrates seamlessly with most modern ui frameworks while allowing experimentation early on. This means I can start building my site with a minimalistic design and then gradually add more features and styling as I learn more about the framework. Especially important since I’m planning on adding React to handle the components which are currently being handled with vanilla Astro
Site Development
Previously when developing portfolio sites, I found myself overrelying on css frameworks such as Bootstrap or ChotaCSS so I wanted to challenge myself to use pure css no frameworks whilst maintaining a responsive and clean website design.
Previously a blog was a big feature I always hoped to implement on previous sites but on top of constant inspiration for
random side projects, it was something I didn’t have the time to reinvent the wheel for. But that was back with vanilla
JS. With Astro I had blog posts up in 10 minutes and them styled within 15 minutes making the ROI huge for me due to
that time saved. Now I can spend that energy on other features of the site such as SEO optimization, dark mode support,
and I want to research alternatives for something more modern for the contact button rather than a simple

What’s next?
I apologize for the lack of content in this post. I plan to make some talking point notes in the future when planning blog posts concurrently when working on new projects or learning new topics which should help me draft these posts easier.
Though one tooling I’d like to explore in a future post is act - Git CI/CD Actions Made Easy as it’s helped me greatly with my development workflow and has helped me test my workflows locally before pushing to GitHub Actions.
So look forward to that in the future!
